After winning the world championships in 2005, Amr Shabana and Nicol David keep retain their HK titles being held at the Diamond Hill Plaza Hollywood. In the womens final, world no. 1 Malaysia's Nicol David beat no. 2 Australia's Nataile Grinham 3-0 while Egypt's Amr Shabana beat France's Gregory Gaultier 3-1 in the mens final.

Today in the womens semi-finals being held at the full-view glass court at the Plaza Hollywood, Daimond Hill, world no. 1 Malaysia's Nicol David beat England's Vicky Botwright 3-1, while seed no. 2 Aussie's Nataile Grinham dismissed USA's Natalie Grainger in straight games. In the mens semi-finals, world no. 1 Amr Shabana beat the current world champion, Aussie's David Palmer 3-1 while the bottom half sees all French players Gregory Gaultier beat Thierry Lincou 3-1. The womens finals will be started at 3.50pm between the top two seeds, last years champion Nicol David and Natalie Grinham. Followed by the mens finals at 4.45pm will be the last years champion Amr Shabana and France's Gregory Gaultier who is first time to reach the final in HK.

In the mens quarter-finals being held at the HK Squash Centre, top seeds and world no. 1 Egypt's Amr Shabana beat Egypt's Wael El Hindi 3-1, while current world champion Aussie's David Palmer dismissed Egypt's Karim Darwish in straight games. They will meet each other in the semi-finals tomorrow at 3.50pm in the glass court. The bottom half will be started at 6.15pm between France's Thierry Lincou and France's Gregory Gaultier.

Today in the womens quarter-finals, top seeds and world no. 1 Malaysia's Nicol David beat England's Jenny Duncalf 3-0 easily, while seed no. 2 Aussie's Nataile Grinham also beat Egypt's Omneya Abdel Kawy in straight games. David will meet England's Vicky Botwright in the semi-finals at 4.45pm where it will be moved to the full-view glass court at the Plaza Hollywood, Daimond Hill. The bottom half will be started at 5.30pm between Natalie Grinham and USA's Natalie Grainger.

In the mens top-half, Egypt's no. 1 Amr Shabana beat Malaysia's Ong Beng Hee 3-0, Amr will meet his team-mate Wael El Hindi at 4.30pm. While Chiu lost to England's Vicky Botwright 0-3. Vicky will play against the current world champion, Aussie's Rachael Grinham at 2pm while the world mens champion, Aussie's David Palmer will meet Egypt's Karim Darwish at 3.30pm.

Today in the main draw first round see HK's top womens player Rebecca Chiu Wing-yin against Asian junior champion Annie Au Wing-chi. Chiu beat Au 3-1 to reach the second round tomorrow against England's Vicky Botwright.

Today in the qualifying event second round see two local players Christina Mak Pui-hin and Max Lee Ho-yin reached the main draw of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Squash Open which being held at the HK Squash Centre. Mak beat RSA's Adel Weir 3-0 and she will play against NED's Annelize Naude tomorrow at 6pm while Lee dismissed EGY's Mohd. A Reda 3-2 who current world ranked no. 62. Lee is the first local mens player who won from the qualifying event right throught to the main draw event. Lee, who is only 19, will meet ENG's Lee Beachill at 6pm.
